Assessor

An assessor working in the education sector plays a key role in assessing students for qualifications at varying levels. The incumbent may also be responsible for teaching the clients to improve their skills so that they are able to pass an assessment.
Assessors often work in freelance positions and may work between colleges and workplaces. Depending on the area of expertise, this individual will visit clients in work areas such as accounting, finance, human resources, construction or healthcare.
The responsibilities of this job holder include compiling training information, creating a portfolio for the learner and submitting it on behalf of the client, as well as providing extra training where it is required.
The job holder is required to have an expert understanding of the specialty they will be assessing. Often, they will be expected to possess D32, D33 or D34 qualifications in order to progress to a more senior position.
The salary range for this job is £18,000 to £26,000.
