Clerk

The clerk is the person who is responsible for the administrative operations of an office. A person in such a role usually writes up an agenda for staff meetings, takes minutes at meetings and distributes the minutes to relevant staff within the organisation. They will also deal with incoming mail, manage a filing system as well as other tasks that ensure the smooth-running of an office
A clerk may also deal with financial matters, distributing petty cash and keeping financial records. Additionally, they may have to deal with queries from external agencies and customers. The job may involve ensuring that computer systems are running effectively, dealing with IT services as well as ensuring that resources are available so that other employees are able to carry out their duties. Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A clerk is expected to have computer and excellent organisational skills as well as the ability to set up and maintain effective record keeping. Being clean and presentable is essential, as the job holder may be expected to deal directly with customers or business partners. The average salary for a person in this role is £20,000 per year.
