Why do employers ads require a maintenance person when what they really want is a qualified electrician plumber or Hvac engineer

Maitanance technician Josh Last updated by patrandall: 18-Jan-2017
I'm interested in applying for jobs as a maintenance technician. I've been self-employed all my life, and I'm interested in a change so as not to have to work at weekends. Can I find myself having to work weekends if I'm working for a company rather than being self-employed?

Victor:
I don't think it has anything to do with being self-employed or with working for others. What you do when self-employed and working at weekends is to keep your business going and afloat. As a maintenance person employed by a company you'll have to work weekends if this is so stated in the conditions you're signing into. If you don't want to work Sat and Sun, you've got to make sure that such condition is not included in the contract.

Problem im finding is employers want a 17th edition electrician that will put their hand to everything else but job title is deceiving
